Role Responsibilities:
- The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering professional nursing care, ensuring patient comfort and well-being.
- Prepares medical equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Administers prescribed medications, performs dressing changes, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.
- Maintains accurate records on patient care, conditions, reactions, and progress.
- Participates actively as a primary or associate nurse, contributing to the planning and implementation of patient care.
- Directs and supports safe aseptic techniques and procedures.
- Provides leadership and guidance to support staff within the department.

Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: One year of nursing experience.
- Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- ACLS certification required at the time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain ACLS by the end of the clinical orientation period.
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- De-escalation training required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- TNCC certification required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hire/transfer.
- PALS certification required at the time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain PALS by the end of the clinical orientation period.
