We are currently seeking a qualified
Logistics Operations Supervisor. The
Logistics Operations Supervisor coordinates the movement of packages via Air and Ground, managing international import and export processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Streamlines daily operational activities to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to company policies, aiming to enhance profitability.
  • Oversees daily airport ramp operations, including the loading and unloading of cargo aircraft while complying with internal regulations and managing consolidations with commercial carriers.
  • Manages warehouse sorting operations for international import and export shipments.
  • Supervises back-office personnel, ensuring effective monitoring of flights, network communication, and deployment of contingencies as needed.
  • Collaborates closely with US Customs and the DHL Imports clearance department to guarantee accurate shipment processing.
  • Responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with Business Partners.
  • Leads the development and execution of special projects.
  • Ensures the implementation and maintenance of quality systems within the area of responsibility.
  • Manages Key Performance Indicators and cost levels effectively.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Provides technical product support to staff.
  • Informs staff of updates to company policies and objectives.
  • Oversees a unionized workforce of 8-12 employees, responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing team members.
  • Assigns tasks, sets deadlines, reviews work, and manages performance in line with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Establishes objectives and delivers results with a focus on short-term operations.
  • Recommends process enhancements for the area; identifies, defines, and develops solutions to issues and challenges that may not be immediately apparent in existing systems.
  • Focuses on maintaining consistent workflow and productivity, meeting service and productivity standards, and resolving operational challenges.
  • Assigns and reviews work.
  • Utilizes MS Office products extensively in daily activities, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Provides guidance and training to team members.
  • Motivates self and others to exceed standards and achieve exceptional results, striving for excellence.
  • Contributes to decisions regarding hiring, firing, layoffs, promotions, rewards, and other personnel matters.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding and broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in the relevant business area.
  • Advanced knowledge of specific aspects of supervised work and practical application to common problems and situations.
  • Effectively utilizes fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to quality and productivity improvements, training, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Generally understands basic supervisory techniques for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Typically requires a BS/BA degree and 2 years of experience in a related field, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Professional certification may be required in certain areas.
