Surgical Services Attendant

About the Role:
As a Surgical Services Attendant at Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursing staff in providing quality healthcare to patients undergoing surgery. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical suites for procedures, including setting up equipment, supplies, and furniture.
- Ensure patients are properly prepared for surgery prior to transport from inpatient and ER units.
- Provide support with patient positioning and care during surgical procedures.
- Assist with the care of laboring patients and perform various services related to patient care.
Requirements:
- One year of previous surgical technician and hospital perioperative experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in Labor & Delivery preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including a Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, a Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check.
- Comply with Jefferson's Covid-19 vaccination policy.
