Before and After School Program Teacher

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a qualified Before and After School Program Teacher to provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment for school-age children. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and be able to develop and lead daily lesson plans that meet the needs of our participants.

About the Role:
  • Assist Site Coordinator in developing and leading daily lesson plans.
  • Maintain records of attendance, arrival, and departure times.
  • Provide weekly lesson plans to parents.
  • Supervise children at all times.

Requirements:
  • Six months to one year youth development related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
  • CPR Certification required within the first 60 days.
  • First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days.

Compensation and Benefits:
$14.62-$18.28 hourly wage, non-exempt, part-time position up to 25 hours/week. This role also offers a $2/hour shift premium for staff who work both before and after school program hours in the same day. Other benefits include free YMCA membership, 10% retirement contribution upon eligibility, and ongoing training and development opportunities.
