Accounting Assistant Job Description

InterAgency Inc. is a minority-owned DC-based small business specializing in permit management services for some of the DC Metro region's largest developers, builders, and property managers.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to assist our accounting and administrative team with invoicing and records management. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly invoices in a timely manner, entering billing information into QuickBooks, and assisting the accounting and administrative team with other support duties.

Responsibilities
  • Perform data entry to prepare monthly project invoices with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review information for client billing and ensure accuracy of invoicing.
  • Provide administrative support to accounting and administrative team.
  • Assist in maintaining tracker for invoices on a daily basis.
  • Ensure self-compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Requirements
  • 2-year degree or 3-years' experience working in a professional work environment.
  • Previous experience as accounting assistant/clerk, administrative assistant, or executive assistant is preferred but not required.
  • Accounting degree is not necessary, but education or experience in accounting, business management, or finance is a plus.
