Job Title: Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team at InterAgency Inc.

Job Summary

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for assisting our accounting and administrative team with invoicing and records management. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Monthly Invoices: Perform data entry to prepare monthly project invoices with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Data Entry: Perform data entry to log invoice data into QuickBooks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers to review information for client billing and ensure accuracy of invoicing.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to accounting and administrative team.
  • Tracker Maintenance: Assist in maintaining tracker for invoices on a daily basis.
  • Compliance: Ensure self-compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Timekeeping: Accurate and detailed daily timekeeping required.
  • Communication: Timely communication with other teammates during regular business hours.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 2-year degree or 3-years' experience working in a professional work environment.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as accounting assistant/clerk, administrative assistant, or executive assistant is preferred but not required.
  • Accounting Degree: Accounting degree is not necessary, but education or experience in accounting, business management, or finance is a plus.
  • Microsoft Word: Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
Employment Conditions
  • Type: Full-time employment
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: Five (5) days in office (located in Bethesda, MD) during initial training phase (up to 90 days). Three (3) days in the office, in Bethesda, MD, two (2) days of remote work per week after training phase is complete.
  • Hours: Regular business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 PM (EST).
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual Salary: Annual salary commensurate with experience.
  • Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000/year
