Job Summary

OVP Health is seeking a highly skilled Authorization Specialist to join our team. As an Authorization Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive the necessary authorizations and referrals for services, including appointments and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review patient medical history and insurance coverage for approval
  • Maintain authorization extensions throughout treatment
  • Pull and submit medical documentation as requested by payer
  • Work denials related to authorization
  • Input new patient information and update information in our system
  • Assist with other clerical tasks as needed

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Associate degree (a plus)
  • Some experience in medical billing or insurance authorization (strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail

Work Environment:

This position operates in a corporate office setting with normal office hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
