Conduct comprehensive assessments in the domains of Speech, Language, Hearing, and Communication tailored to individual student requirements.
Engage in systematic data gathering and analysis. Collect pertinent information through interviews, observations, and effective methodologies to evaluate the student's overall Speech/Language capabilities.
Monitor progress and collaborate with educational staff and families to enhance family-school-community partnerships.
Demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to district-wide strategies that foster student learning.
Familiarity with evidence-based practices concerning: Speech and Language Disorders, Communication Aids, Augmentative Communication, and Non-verbal Communication Systems.
Evaluate and diagnose students utilizing suitable assessments and informal evaluation techniques.Participate in the identification, screening, and evaluation processes, and prepare necessary documentation and reports.
Assist in the enrollment and placement of students in speech therapy and other relevant Special Education programs.
Deliver Speech Language therapy aimed at alleviating and addressing challenges that hinder the student's educational experience.
Develop diagnostic and treatment strategies for students from various cultural backgrounds.
Provide direct intervention services for identified students to enhance or rectify disabilities through the execution of the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Schedule sessions for individual or group therapy and/or classroom consultations.Create and implement IEPs for students with speech and language challenges that comply with state regulations.
Engage in conferences and consultations with parents, school personnel, and additional support staff.
Participate in Special Education and General Education activities, including attendance at IEPs, 504 meetings, and other relevant gatherings (responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist).
Promote and support diversity in educational development and learning.
Continuously advocate for research-driven and best practices.
Uphold professional ethics, educational laws, and institutional policies. Maintain professional competence.
Ensure student supervision that aligns with district and school safety standards.
Complete required reports within specified timelines and as requested by supervisors.
Present assessment reports in a professional and meaningful manner.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
