About the Role

The State of Indiana is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Winter Seasonal Maintenance Worker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing general highway maintenance duties to ensure the safety and efficiency of our transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain highway maintenance equipment, including snow plows and traffic signs
  • Perform snow and ice removal, as well as other winter operations duties as required
  • Repair and install traffic signs and pavement markings
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including clean-up, traffic control, and lane closures
  • Perform equipment maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Comply with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license and commercial driver's license (CDL) required
  • Ability to move 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, and standing for long periods
  • Ability to endure exposure to inclement weather
  • Ability to operate specialty traffic equipment
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
