REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

SUMMARY: The Facilities Technician at Piasecki Aircraft Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of facility systems. This position encompasses a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing domains, in addition to general maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, proficient time management, meticulous record-keeping, a professional attitude, and a robust sense of accountability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to guarantee the smooth functioning of facility operations.
  • Assemble and install material handling systems, furniture, and other necessary equipment.
  • Assist in the setup and integration of manufacturing and workshop machinery.
  • Monitor and document the status of building systems, promptly reporting any discrepancies.
  • Support the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of building infrastructure and auxiliary systems.
  • Operate and maintain forklifts for various operational tasks, requiring appropriate certification.
  • Execute a range of labor tasks, from basic to semi-skilled, including framing, patching, and painting to uphold facility standards.
  • Conduct basic plumbing and electrical repairs or installations as required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the facility through regular maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate the transportation of company hardware, machinery, and other assets between locations.
  • Collaborate with fellow maintenance personnel to ensure efficient task completion.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations within a manufacturing or workshop setting.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and tools for repair work.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, or carpentry trades.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
  • Capability to climb ladders and operate lifts safely.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with contractors and reporting to management.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:

  • High school diploma (mandatory).
  • A technical degree from a trade school or technical institute (preferred).
