SUMMARY: The Facilities Technician at Piasecki Aircraft Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of facility systems. This position encompasses a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing domains, in addition to general maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, proficient time management, meticulous record-keeping, a professional attitude, and a robust sense of accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to guarantee the smooth functioning of facility operations.
- Assemble and install material handling systems, furniture, and other necessary equipment.
- Assist in the setup and integration of manufacturing and workshop machinery.
- Monitor and document the status of building systems, promptly reporting any discrepancies.
- Support the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of building infrastructure and auxiliary systems.
- Operate and maintain forklifts for various operational tasks, requiring appropriate certification.
- Execute a range of labor tasks, from basic to semi-skilled, including framing, patching, and painting to uphold facility standards.
- Conduct basic plumbing and electrical repairs or installations as required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the facility through regular maintenance activities.
- Coordinate the transportation of company hardware, machinery, and other assets between locations.
- Collaborate with fellow maintenance personnel to ensure efficient task completion.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations within a manufacturing or workshop setting.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and tools for repair work.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or carpentry trades.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
- Capability to climb ladders and operate lifts safely.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with contractors and reporting to management.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:
- High school diploma (mandatory).
- A technical degree from a trade school or technical institute (preferred).
