Responsibilities

Are you seeking a role that allows you to lead and design enterprise lifecycle systems engineering activities, including requirements, CONOPS, and architecture development in the remote sensing domain for both current and future systems? Join our Chief Architect/Front Office team within the NRO's Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED) as a SETA contractor on the Geralt program.

As a Senior Systems Architect for Enterprise Solutions, your primary responsibility will be to assist the client in defining the enterprise systems architecture strategy, providing leadership, oversight, and technical guidance, and performing cross-disciplinary activities essential for supporting enterprise architecture modeling, decision-making, and evaluating alternatives related to the client's systems and initiatives.

You will also:

  • Implement Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles for system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities, starting from the conceptual design and continuing throughout the project lifecycle. This includes advocating for the transition and implementation of MBSE processes and standards across a large ground enterprise organization and assessing tools for inclusion in the MBSE framework.
  • Facilitate Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), engineering working groups, and knowledge-sharing sessions that will promote, review, and evaluate the maturity of engineering artifacts, CONOPS, interfaces, and architecture products within the MBSE framework.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and best practices to teams coordinating CONOPS and architecture products, translating requirements into features, assessing system and segment schedules and risks, leading readiness and release planning events in support of system and acquisition-level ground milestones, and supporting agile testing and DevOps verification strategies as well as the integration of new systems and initiatives to enhance GEOINT or SIGINT mission capabilities.
  • Continuously assess MBSE and systems engineering processes to create efficiencies. You may lead projects for systems team efforts, engage in frequent client interactions, and support system and mission strategy development across various ground offices.
  • Engage daily with the client and supporting contractors, adhering to customer standards and processes as the program evolves through its lifecycle.
  • Facilitate risk management and action closure with multiple Acquisition Offices and users, providing technical consultation, coordinating meetings, and conducting task/dependency analysis.
Qualifications
  • Experience: BS with 10-12 years, MS with 8-10 years, or PhD with 5-7 years
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with Poly
  • Over 8 years of experience in space/ground aerospace systems engineering and architecture
  • BS in engineering, physics, or a related technical field
  • In-depth knowledge of the client's mission capabilities, including GEOINT, SIGINT, and Multi-INT domains, as well as overall space and ground architecture
  • Expertise in mission technical capabilities, architecture, and system performance analysis
  • Experience in supporting requirements engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to facilitate end-to-end systems engineering
  • Ability to define and sustain MBSE principles, processes, and standards within an agile development framework
