Position Overview

The internship opportunities at Shield Engineering Group offer aspiring civil engineers a chance to acquire practical experience in diverse land development and municipal infrastructure initiatives. Interns will collaborate with seasoned professionals, gaining essential insights into the application of academic knowledge within a consulting engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D software to execute engineering assignments.
  • Support initial site assessments and due diligence processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quantity take-offs, cost estimates, engineering drawings, maps, and other related documentation to facilitate project support.
  • Conduct construction oversight for land development, municipal water, sewer, and stormwater projects.
  • Assist in the compilation of permits for land development and municipal initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with Civil Engineering principles, surveying, and drafting techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior internship experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
