About the Position

Fortress Investment Group is seeking a highly skilled Valuation Analyst/Associate to join its Credit Funds business. This is a key role on the Valuations team, responsible for assisting in the fair value determination of private investments within the Credit Funds business.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct in-depth reviews of monthly valuations of the Credit Funds' investments, utilizing a variety of valuation techniques.
  2. Collaborate with asset managers and investment professionals to understand movements in valuations and provide insights for senior management.
  3. Assist in the ongoing analysis of the portfolio by reviewing complex financial models, key valuation assumptions, and performance indicators.
  4. Prepare summary packages of valuations analysis, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  5. Liaise with auditors to gather information and track documentation.
  6. Contribute to policy and procedure reviews across Credit regarding Valuation to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  7. Develop strong relationships with colleagues and third parties, including Credit Funds senior management, investment teams, and auditors.
Qualifications:
  1. 2-4 years of relevant experience in private valuations (debt and/or equity valuations).
  2. Hands-on experience with financial modeling, valuation techniques, and data analysis.
  3. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to senior managers.
  5. Process improvement orientation, with a demonstrated track record of implementing enhancements.
  6. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of Bloomberg and Wall Street Office a plus.
  7. Alternative asset management experience, bank valuation, or marking agent experience preferred.
