About the Role

raSmith is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer - Cold-Formed to join our Structural Services division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and managing structural engineering projects for a variety of healthcare, commercial, retail, multi-family residential, industrial, and institutional buildings nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and manage structural design efforts for multiple simultaneous projects
  • Design and layout structural engineering drawings for assigned projects/work assignments, including the preparation of plans, schedules, and details
  • Design structural systems of primarily cold-formed steel framing and structural steel for a variety of buildings
  • Prepare structural calculations and design drawings for submittal
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and three (3) or more years of experience in the structural design of cold-formed steel building projects
  • Knowledge of cold-formed steel design and light steel framing
  • Knowledge of AISI standards for cold-formed steel framing projects
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.) registration is preferred
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of AutoDesk Revit and AutoCAD programs
  • Working knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs, including CFS Designer and RISA
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Applicable U.S. based work experience
