Position Summary

Proof of the Pudding serves as the leading provider of Food & Beverage services for all concession and premium locations during sporting events at Mississippi State University. We are seeking Cook(s)/Prep Cook(s) to support our premium culinary operations. This role will involve assisting in the culinary preparations for game day catering across various sports, including pre-event setup, execution during events, and post-event cleanup. The successful candidates will report directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the highest standards of food quality alongside your culinary team.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed in all kitchen and food service areas.
  • Deliver exceptional service and food quality for each event.
  • Assist in the organization and delivery of menu items in accordance with event specifications.
  • Prepare dishes following established recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen tools and supplies.
  • Support the culinary management team with various tasks as assigned.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Must reside in proximity to Starkville, MS.
  • Availability for the majority of event days is essential.
  • Prior experience in a kitchen or stadium environment is preferred.
  • Ability to produce consistent quality in a high-volume setting.
  • Must be an excellent team collaborator.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong listening and communication abilities.
  • Capability to follow recipes accurately in a high-volume context.
Work Environment:

This position will primarily be based at Mississippi State University, with significant time spent in the kitchen utilizing standard kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, ovens, and hot pans.

Uniform Guidelines:

Compliance with company uniform standards as outlined in the Associate Handbook is required. Non-slip footwear is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, navigate kitchen spaces, and travel to various venues.
  • Physical tasks may include bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying items weighing approximately 40 lbs.
