Critical Facility Technician 1

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Critical Facility Technician 1 to join our team. As a critical member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within our data centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues.
  • Serve as an expert technical resource, interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure data center equipment supporting mission-critical servers maintains better than 99.999% uptime.
  • Utilize safe working practices, apply lockout/tagout, SDS, and good housekeeping methods.
  • Read and review blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, mechanical riser drawings, and job specifications.
  • Ability to use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair new or replacement parts for existing units.
  • Assist a CET2 technician with CET2 classified procedures and perform daily walk-throughs of facilities.
  • Ability to understand site-specific processes and procedures, including incident reporting and outage procedures.
  • Navigate and verify the nominal status of electrical and mechanical infrastructure via BMS and EPMS systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS-SCI clearance.
  • Possess a Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC license, or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift at least 100 pounds, relocate a 12-foot stepladder, and work at various heights.
  • Good vision, ability to see in color, and communicate in English.
