Position Overview:

Role:
Behavior Support Specialist

Employment Type:
Contractual

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours per day

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to guidance from the BCBA, educators, and program supervisors.
- Apply behavior management strategies, including prevention, intervention, and consequence techniques.
- Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
- Review and implement behavior intervention plans.
- Execute tasks related to behavioral and ABA objectives as directed by instructors.
- Assist in academic instruction under the guidance of educators.
- Support the development plans of SLP, OT, and PT.
- Document sessions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Collect behavioral and academic data accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Aid students in developing independent daily living skills through self-care activities.
- Support students in various environments, including classrooms, playgrounds, and other settings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of pediatric experience is preferred.
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Participation in Amergis' Competency program as applicable.
- Current CPR certification if required.
- Completion of TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if necessary.
- Valid health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language are essential.
- Computer proficiency is required.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
