Job Summary

A skilled Nurse Aide is sought after by Thomas Rest Haven to provide exceptional personal care and assistance to our residents. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for ensuring the comfort, dignity, and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathing and Grooming: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming needs, including shaving, hair care, oral hygiene, and skin care.
  • Personal Care: Help residents with toileting, feeding, and hydration needs, including passing ice, fresh drinking water, and other fluids.
  • Mealtime Assistance: Provide prompt mealtime assistance, including checking diet cards for accuracy, positioning food and utensils for resident convenience, and helping with cutting foods and pouring liquids.
  • Feeding Assistance: Provide partial or total feeding assistance and encouragement as needed, and record observations on meal intake records.
  • Elimination Needs: Assist residents with all elimination needs, including bedpan urinal, commode, or bathroom assistance, and participate in the facility incontinence program.
  • Repositioning and Transfers: Reposition immobile residents at time and in a manner as instructed, and assist residents in transferring from bed, chair, wheelchair, toilet, etc. using appropriate equipment and following the principles of proper body mechanics.
  • Exercise and ADLs: Assist residents in exercise, including active/passive range of motion, ambulation, etc. as indicated by the supervisor and individualized care plan, and help restore independence through teaching and encouragement in ADL skills.
  • Prevention of Complications: Help prevent complications of decubitus ulcers and contractures by replacing positioning aids, protective padding, etc.
