Offshore Wind Engineering Co-Op

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-Op student to join our Offshore Wind Engineering team. As a Co-Op student, you will assist the team with engineering tasks related to offshore platforms and provide support for offshore wind projects at our onshore substations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the team with engineering tasks related to offshore platforms
  • Provide support for offshore wind projects at our onshore substations
  • Contribute to defining structural engineering requirements
  • Support the construction and implementation of HVDC converter stations, HVAC substations, and offshore platforms
Requirements:
  • Availability to start in January 2025
  • Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time through the Spring 2025 semester
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related majors
  • Accumulated 18 or more credits and be at least 18 years of age
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
  • Located within a commutable distance to Boston, MA
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, SAP2000, RISA3D, DNV Bladed, OpenFAST, SACS, etc.)
  • Experience from offshore wind projects and/or other renewable development
  • Familiarity with recent trends in onshore and offshore wind, other large-scale renewable generation, energy storage, conventional generation, and other emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of shipyards, jacket fabricators, and heavy lift vessel operations

We offer a competitive salary range of $26.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student) and $33.00 an hour (Graduate Student). Our Co-Op Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for students; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements.

Please note that as a Co-Op student, you must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
