Job Summary

CareStaff Partners is seeking a highly motivated and passionate School Psychologist for a contract position in a well-respected School District in California. The ideal candidate will be able to support a positive and professional environment, work in a fast-paced setting, and provide exceptional services to students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Psychological Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive psychological tests and evaluations to assess students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
  • Support IEP Development: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Teach Pro-Social Behaviors: Design and implement strategies to teach pro-social behaviors to students within the school environment.
  • Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing a range of issues including academic, social, and emotional concerns.
  • Staff Development: Develop and implement intervention plans to support teaching staff in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Parent Support: Meet with parents to discuss student progress, provide guidance on how to support their child's learning, and address any concerns they may have.
  • Community Outreach: Act as a liaison between the school and the community, facilitating workshops and training sessions for parents and teachers.
  • Peer Mediation: Facilitate peer mediation sessions to help students resolve conflicts and develop essential social skills.
  • Crisis Counseling: Provide grief or emergency counseling services to students and staff in times of crisis.
Requirements
  • Education: A master's degree in school psychology or a related field is required.
  • Licensure: A state license or Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) certification from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) is required.
  • Continuing Education: Completion of 20-30 hours of continuing education in child psychology or education each year is required.
