Kaiser Permanente is in search of an Outpatient Therapy Specialist to join our dedicated team.
Job Responsibilities:
As an integral part of the Rehabilitation Services, you will:
1. Assess patients and interpret evaluation results to identify the extent of their functional impairments.
2. Develop treatment objectives and design tailored treatment plans to meet these goals.
3. Initiate discharge planning for occupational therapy as necessary.
4. Deliver direct patient care while implementing the established treatment program.
5. Collaborate with supportive personnel to delegate portions of the treatment plan effectively.
6. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
7. Provide education and guidance to patients and their families regarding therapy processes.
Ongoing Evaluation:
Regularly monitor clinical indicators to assess treatment effectiveness, patient progress towards goals, and the necessity for adjustments in therapy.
Discharge patients from occupational therapy once they have achieved optimal benefits from the program.
Maintain precise and timely documentation of patient management in occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Experience: Not applicable.
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or possess a foreign-trained equivalent.
- Licensure: National Provider Identifier required upon hire; Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Current California Occupational Therapy License or eligibility letter prior to employment commencement.
- Ability to thrive in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred.
Notes:
Willingness to travel between various locations as needed for both inpatient and outpatient services.
