Job Summary

As a Neurodiagnostic Supervisor at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a crucial role in the daily operation and supervision of personnel working in the Neurodiagnostic Lab and the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Your responsibilities will include performing all relevant duties of a Neurodiagnostic Technologist II or higher, assisting the Director in providing quality services, and ensuring the function and integration of neurodiagnostic equipment with organizational IT services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions of a Neurotechnologist.
  • Responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, safety, technical, and quality aspects of the Neurodiagnostic Lab and the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
  • Act as a resource in coordinating clinical and technical operations in the Neurodiagnostic Lab and the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in accordance with institutional, and state and federal standards.
  • Assist in reviewing and revising department policies and procedures to ensure continuity in compliance accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with department leadership to achieve department goals and objectives, including budget and other operational priorities.
  • Promote teamwork and manage up team members and direct reports.
  • Supervise, perform, and/or assist with the performance of Neurodiagnostic and Epilepsy Monitoring procedures, the processing and quality control of reports, transportation and coordination of patients and related duties of technologists and ancillary personnel.
  • Coordinate the training of employees and students.
  • Work closely with the Health Systems Information Management team to ensure timely and complete capture of all neurophysiologic testing as well as network transmission of data.
  • Provide findings, results, and a descriptive analysis according to facility policy and procedures. Strong well-developed communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Perform standard and complex electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), and nerve conduction studies (NCS) at the patient's bedside in the operating room and in the laboratory. Other monitoring procedures will include Long Term Monitoring (LTM), the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM).
  • Participate in organizational leadership meetings and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Related Associate's Degree Required: Associate's Degree of Applied Science or equivalent.
Experience
  • 3 years of experience in an acute neurodiagnostic setting.
  • 2 years Inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit experience.
  • Experience with integration of Neurodiagnostic Technology and Electronic Medical Record Systems.
  • Experience with coordination of staff scheduling and patient scheduling.
  • Experience with orienting and precepting students and new staff.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Minimum of one of the following ABRET registries/certifications: CLTM, CNIM, R.EEG.T, R.EP.T, R.ED.T.
  • BLS/CPR is required.
