About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team at Hopedale Medical Complex. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care to athletes and patients, ensuring their optimal health and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Prevent and treat athletic injuries, maintaining the health and well-being of athletes and patients.
  • Act as a Physician Extender during HMC clinics or as needed, providing medical coverage and support.
  • Work closely with athletes, parents, coaches, and physicians to ensure effective communication and patient care.
  • Develop and implement patient treatment programs, utilizing departmental guidelines and state practice act guidelines.
  • Provide clear and concise patient education, ensuring that patients and their families understand treatment protocols and instructions.
  • Manage supplies, obtain new supplies as needed, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in State, District, and National Athletic Training Organizations as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an Athletic Training Program or Entry Level Masters.
  • BOC certification and IL AT license or eligible.
  • Approximately one to two years' experience of progressively responsible related experience necessary to gain a thorough knowledge of athletic training techniques.
Working Conditions

Works in all athletic type atmospheres where there may be discomforts due to dust, dirt, noise, heat, and the like. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds daily, stand, walk, and kneel for 90% of work time, and push and/or pull supply carts, gurneys, and/or wheelchairs.

Must be able to read and manipulate all equipment dials/controls and work in patient care area where there is exposure to infectious disease, although potential for personal harm or bodily injury is limited when employee follows all safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment, and universal precautions.
