We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Methodist Rehab Hospital Texsan. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
- One year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
- Must possess a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, from the Texas Medical Board, to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Texas.
- Must possess a current credential as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) AFTER July 1, 2002.
- Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
Methodist Rehab Hospital Texsan is a freestanding facility that offers a safe and comfortable environment for patients to receive the highest quality of inpatient rehabilitation services with a patient-centered approach.
