About the Role:

The Compliance Officer for Philanthropic Partnerships will play a critical role in ensuring that InsideHigherEd's donors have a positive experience in their philanthropic support of the University. This position will be responsible for facilitating the development of solid gift documentation, reviewing and preparing gift agreements, and ensuring that they align with University policies and administrative practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare gift agreements to capture donor intent and ensure alignment with University policies and practices.
  • Provide basic training and education services for fundraisers and Advancement staff, including the development and maintenance of policy, process, and protocol documentation.
  • Ensure all relevant information is entered and maintained in a variety of tracking systems and seek to ensure that information is accurate and actionable.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective compliance strategies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in philanthropic compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field such as fundraising, higher education, nonprofits, sales, customer service, and/or grant management.
  • Excellent organization and management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in writing, with respect to names, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Must be comfortable learning and using technology, both new and existing.
  • Must be proficient with managing data and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Experience with DocuSign, Google Docs, and document management software.
  • Experience with task and project management.
