Acute Care Respiratory Specialist

Job Summary:
The Acute Care Respiratory Specialist provides high-quality respiratory care to patients in an acute setting, conducting thorough assessments and implementing advanced airway management techniques. This role involves collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure the safety and compliance of respiratory procedures, as well as educating patients and families on chronic pulmonary disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient's response to all respiratory care provided and document required information
- Determine appropriateness and provide recommendations for respiratory care services, taking into consideration the needs of different age groups, cognitive abilities, and development status
- Perform respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including cardiopulmonary and neonatal resuscitation
- Maintain a safe and clean environment that complies with regulatory standards
- Participate in the implementation of the department specific Quality and Performance Improvement Plan
Requirements:
To be successful as an Acute Care Respiratory Specialist, you must have a Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved school and passage of the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification examination. Additionally, you should have a minimum of one year of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in an acute care setting, current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license, and National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential or National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include competitive pay, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
