Job Summary:
As a Power Mechanic Level A at Estes Express, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining our fleet and ensuring compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect and diagnose equipment issues
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare necessary documentation
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulations

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 18+ years of age
• Minimum 1-year experience in heavy truck repair or completion of trade school
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment
• Possess own tools
• Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria
• Familiarity with diesel engine system diagnostics
• Ability to keep up with changing technology and updates
• Strong mechanical ability and interest in engines, electronics, and precision equipment
• Ability to work in awkward positions and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Valid CDL and acceptable MVR required for driving on public roads
• Registration with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starting and organized
• Strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends, in various weather conditions

Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this role include frequent lifting, twisting, turning, and climbing. The employee must be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and may involve working near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The employee may be required to work in high/precarious places, with hazardous materials, and in various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to loud.
