Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex CT procedures, evaluating radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
  • Determine whether patients have been appropriately prepared for procedures, prepping patients for scanning as needed.
  • Assist providers with CT-guided interventional procedures, perform CT examinations, and administer contrast following established departmental protocols.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients, addressing and documenting questions and concerns regarding procedures.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines, monitoring patients' physical conditions during procedures.
  • Review images to determine if additional scans will enhance diagnostic value, perform retrospective reconstruction on raw data, and provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
  • Adhere to infection control guidelines and sterile techniques, revising scanning parameters to better visualize pathology in accordance with established protocols.
  • Review diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy, documenting diagnostic, treatment, and patient data in the appropriate record, and archiving images to data storage devices according to established guidelines.
  • Assess equipment to determine acceptable performance based on established guidelines, performing daily clerical duties, including the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer systems, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital.
  • Greets patients upon arrival for exams, utilizing AIDET standards, and administers emergency care, including performing CPR if necessary.
  • Responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care.
  • On-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy, adhering to the policy of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
  • Identifies the needs of the patient population served, modifying and delivering care that is specific to those needs, communicating with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their level.
  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies, and other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiography.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Diagnostics Radiography License.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
  • CT certification must be completed within 9 months from date of hire.
