Job Title: CT Scan Technologist

Job Summary:

The CT Scan Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography procedures to produce high-quality images for interpretation and assisting with interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex CT procedures and document patient clinical history in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Prepare and screen contrast questionnaires, verifying prescriptions with physicians to ensure accurate administration.
  • Administer contrast media and monitor patients for any adverse reactions, prioritizing patient safety.
  • Schedule and obtain outside studies for comparison by radiologists, ensuring timely and accurate diagnosis.
  • Provide clear explanations to patients regarding procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and patient preparation guidelines, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning to ensure accurate image capture.
  • Understanding of CT software/hardware and PACS systems to optimize image quality and workflow.
  • ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire, demonstrating expertise in computed tomography.
  • BLS certification within 3 months of hire, ensuring proficiency in life-saving techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, demonstrating a strong foundation in medical imaging.
  • NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License required, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Six months of CT experience and familiarity with Epic or similar systems, enhancing workflow efficiency.
