Role Responsibilities

The Response to Intervention (RtI) Teacher is tasked with delivering targeted instructional support in reading and/or mathematics. This role involves collaboration with classroom educators, school administrators, and network personnel to create and execute intervention strategies tailored to the diverse needs of students in a K-8 environment.

Key Duties:Assessment and Identification:
  • Conduct screening evaluations to identify students requiring additional academic assistance.
  • Analyze assessment data and classroom performance to pinpoint students' specific needs.
  • Regularly monitor student progress through formative assessments and adjust interventions accordingly.
Instructional Support:
  • Collaborate with the academic team to develop and implement individualized intervention strategies based on student needs.
  • Provide direct instruction to small groups or individual students in core subjects such as reading and mathematics.
  • Employ evidence-based instructional methods and interventions.
  • Work with classroom teachers to integrate interventions into the standard classroom environment when feasible.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Engage closely with classroom educators, network staff, and school administrators to enhance student learning.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and strategies for supporting learning at home.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Keep accurate and comprehensive records of student progress, intervention plans, and assessment data.
Professional Development:
  • Stay informed about best practices and research in the field of RtI and instructional interventions.
  • Participate in and lead professional development sessions related to RtI and differentiated instruction for educators.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required; a Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Reading, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience is required; experience with RtI processes and implementing academic interventions is preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of educators and support staff, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in utilizing technology and educational software for assessment and instruction.
Working Environment:
  • This role involves working within a school setting alongside students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • The RtI Teacher may engage with students in various environments, including classrooms and intervention spaces.
