At Colonial Downs + Rosie's Gaming Emporium, we offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year for our Count Room Lead position based in New Kent, VA.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide Exceptional Guest Service : Deliver outstanding next-level guest service to internal and external guests, embodying the #AddLife culture in all interactions.
  2. Lead and Develop Team Members : Hire, motivate, train, coach, mentor, and direct staff to ensure team members receive the necessary leadership, guidance, and resources to achieve established objectives.
  3. Foster a Supportive Environment : Create and maintain an environment that supports and motivates team members, promoting a positive work culture.
  4. Establish Department Standards : Develop and maintain department standards, guidelines, and objectives, as well as administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing, to ensure efficient operation of assigned areas.
  5. Collaborate with Surveillance and Security : Work with surveillance and security to develop and maintain a secure drop route.
  6. Ensure Compliance and Safety : Monitor count room activity for cleanliness, safe working conditions, and practices, ensuring compliance with department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.
  7. Process Vouchers and Currency : Ensure the proper removal and counting of all vouchers and currency from gaming bill acceptors and table games drop boxes.
  8. Manage Gaming-Related Records : Control the storage of gaming-related records and forms.
  9. Generate Reports : Prepare and generate gaming device, cash, and voucher and win reports at the end of the count.
  10. Perform Minor Equipment Maintenance : Handle minor mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs.
  11. Resolve Problems : Resolve problems within the scope of authority and recommend courses of action for issues beyond the scope of authority to the supervisor.
  12. Communicate Effectively : Keep the supervisor informed of relevant activities and review the work activities of subordinate employees to ensure they are meeting established standards.
  13. Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities:
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required licenses.
  • Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take necessary steps to prevent minors from gambling or loitering in gambling areas, consuming alcoholic beverages, or purchasing tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures related to the department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
Position Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED certificate is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Excellent math skills and proficiency in PC programs, such as Microsoft Office, and menu-driven programs are required. The ability to formulate and communicate ideas and make independent decisions is essential. Prior experience maintaining ATMs, cash registers, kiosks, printers, or other similar devices is preferred.

Virginia Racing Commission License

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinates who may supervise employees, responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit(s).
