This is a per diem position, weekly scheduled hours will vary based on department needs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiological examinations as requested by referring clinicians.
- Operate X-Ray equipment, prepare examination room, equipment, supplies, and contrast media as needed.
- Provide patient services using imaging modalities.
- Cover shifts at both the hospital and the Medical Office Building.
- Prepare room, equipment, and contrast material as needed for the patient.
- Prepare the patient for the procedure—explain procedures, transfer the patient to the table, position the patient, and assist the patient as needed while the patient is in our department.
- Follow prescribed procedures when performing the radiographic examinations.
- Observe the patient and equipment during the procedure and report unusual occurrences to the manager.
- Perform portable and OR examinations as requested.
- Assist the Radiologist during procedures.
- Clean and disinfect the X-Ray rooms and equipment.
- Maintain stock supplies.
- Work evenings, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.
- Supervise student technologists in the Clinical areas.
- Perform general office duties as necessary.
- Transport patients as necessary.
- Help gather and correlate information for the Performance Improvement Program.
- Participate on PIC teams as needed.
- Attend educational programs as required by the Hospital, NYSDOH, and the ARRT.
- Perform daily QC.
- Complete daily shift tasks at the end of each shift.
- Perform monthly/quarterly designated job duties.
- Ability and eagerness to help and supervise student interns, cross train in other areas, and learn new job responsibilities.
- Must be able to work well in a team setting, and independently.
- NY State Licensing, certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology is required.
- Proficient in Meditech and Eview preferred.
- CPR Certified.
Electrical energy and ionizing radiation are present, film Badges are worn at all times, and protective gloves and aprons are provided.
