As a Medical Laboratory Technician I at LifeBridge Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results. Your primary responsibility will be to perform moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory tests in one or more of the following disciplines: Blood Bank, Microbiology, Manual Procedures, and Automated Procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
- Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education programs to stay up-to-date on the latest laboratory techniques and technologies
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations and provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college) and less than 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. You must also be certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) by a recognized accrediting agency, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
