Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at the Gwinnett County Correctional Institution. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing quality healthcare services to our patients. You will be responsible for taking and documenting patient history and vital signs, performing and documenting medical and mental health screenings and evaluations, and responding to medical emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Take and document all patient history and vital signs.
  • Perform and document all patient history and vital signs, mental health screenings and/or evaluations.
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical and mental health emergencies.
  • Assist with daily triage/sick call, minor medical/surgical procedures, patient assessments, examinations and/or treatment.
  • Initiate and document prescribed protocol agreement.
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies within the facility.
  • Observe and evaluate the performance of the licensed practical/vocational nursing staff.
Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Georgia.
  • Valid CPR card.
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with correctional healthcare experience preferred.
  • Position may require he/she to stand or walk for long periods of time while performing duties.
