Job Overview

Five Star Correctional Services, Inc. is looking for a skilled Culinary Operations Supervisor to oversee food service at a correctional facility. This role involves managing a team of Inmate Trustees in a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide ongoing training to a team of 5 to 12 Inmate Trustees in various aspects of food service operations, including:
    • Operation of kitchen equipment.
    • Adherence to recipes.
    • Food preparation, production, and presentation of meal trays.
    • Serving of meals.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene while utilizing Trustee labor.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, approximately 80% of the work time.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in institutional or commercial food service is essential; experience in correctional food service is highly desirable.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check is mandatory; felony convictions will disqualify candidates.
  • All necessary training will be provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Veterans will receive special consideration.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting pay rate: $15.50 per hour.
