Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate In-House Organ Recovery Coordinator to join our team. As a critical care nurse with experience in an ICU or critical care setting, you will be responsible for overseeing the organ donation process, coordinating with medical staff, and ensuring the safe and efficient recovery of organs for transplantation.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
- Coordinate organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
- Coordinate and assist in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as arranging transportation and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
- Provide support to donor families and conduct medical/social history interviews.
- Partner with hospital leadership to improve donation metrics, protocols, and policy.
- Develop and present hospital educational programs and status reports based on strategic goals.
- Update donor information into electronic medical records.
- Two plus years of prior experience in a critical care setting.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask.
- Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
- Registered Nursing (RN) License.
- Valid Driver's License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
