ChristianaCare, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. With two Magnet recognized hospitals and the only Level 1 Trauma service on the East Coast between Philadelphia and Baltimore, we offer a dynamic and challenging work environment.

The Wilmington Intensive Care Unit (WICU) team at the Wilmington Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to work 36 hours per week, rotating shifts - night and day. Weekends and holidays are per department guidelines. The typical shift is 7p-7a & 7a - 7p.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with hospitalists, specialty consultants, and transitional nursing staff. You will utilize your expertise in assessing patients' physical and emotional status, past health history, health practices, and both patients' and families' knowledge of their disease and treatment.

As a transitional nurse, you will engage in a relationship-based care model, building relationships with patients and families, as well as with your peers, guided by our values of excellence and love.

You will manage a team of 3 to 4 medical or surgical patients per shift and work with the multidisciplinary team to achieve realistic healthcare goals for the patient and their family.

You will plan your nursing care to promote patient wellness and provide patients and their families with information related to their disease process and patient education.

In addition, you will closely monitor patients, manage emergencies, and provide ongoing support and education to the patient and their family.

Requirements

  • BSN required
  • Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years from date of hire can be considered with relevant experience
  • Registered Nurse with 2 years of experience; telemetry experience a plus
  • BLS required
  • ACLS preferred. Must commit to obtaining ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • Progressive Care or Gerontology Certification preferred

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including full medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and two retirement planning offerings.
