Postdoctoral Fellow in Biology of Learning and Memory

Job Summary:

The Gershman lab at Harvard University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to contribute to experimental studies of learning and memory in ciliates. This research program is driven by new ideas about the molecular basis of memory and its ancient origins in protozoa.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct experiments to study habituation memory in Stentor as a window into the molecular basis of memory.
  • Collaborate with Jeremy Gunawardena at Harvard Medical School to develop theoretical models guiding the research.
  • Analyze data and contribute to the development of research papers.
  • Work in a team environment to achieve research goals.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Cellular or Molecular Biology or related field.
  • Extensive wet lab experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats.
  • Ability to work in a positive and productive manner with diverse staff.
