Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant Education in the Lexington, MN area. This full-time position is focused on supporting a middle school ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classroom with a manageable caseload and dedicated classroom support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement tailored IEPs to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring a comprehensive and effective learning environment.
  • Collaborate with Support Staff: Work closely with two paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom to ensure comprehensive support for students, promoting a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction as needed to achieve educational goals and ensure student success.
  • Communicate with Parents and Staff: Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, school staff, and other professionals to coordinate and enhance student support, promoting a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in IEP Meetings: Actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development of educational and behavioral strategies to support student success.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field, and possess a valid Minnesota Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Special Education and EC.
  • Experience and Skills: Possess experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
