Job Title: Anatomic Pathology Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Anatomic Pathology Assistant to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the examination and processing of surgical specimens, as well as performing various laboratory tests and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the gross examination of surgical specimens, including dissection and identification of anatomical structures.
  • Perform various laboratory tests and procedures, including frozen section techniques and special studies.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of tissue samples for histopathological examination.
  • Communicate with clinicians regarding autopsy findings and provide educational support to students and residents.
  • Perform eviscerations and organ block dissection as per departmental protocol.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or MS from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program or in a medical or scientific field with at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Eligible to take the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification examination.
