School Nurse Opportunity

Amergis is seeking a skilled School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and education to students in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs
- Demonstrate the provision of skill nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders and Individualized Health Plans (IHP)
- Perform interventions, treatments, and medications administration according to identified priorities as outlined in the IHP
- Monitor and document the effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications
- Complete documentation per client expectations
- Coordinate and facilitate services as requested between the school, local health agencies, and other community resources to meet the needs of the student
- Communicate with school district personnel about student's plan of care/IHP
- Notify District School Nurse/Amergis Supervisor/Parent/Physician as outlined in the IHP regarding changes in condition of student, physician notification to obtain necessary orders, and other relevant information
- Graduate of an accredited registered, practical, or vocational nursing program
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational, or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
- One year of professional experience, preferred
- Complies with accepted professional standard and practice
- Willingness to participate in skill advancement, if applicable
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program
- Current CPR
- PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
