Position Overview:

The Housekeeping Team Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the housekeeping operations within designated areas of the hotel. This position is essential for maintaining high cleanliness standards and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Compensation: $20/HR

Weekend Availability: Required

Experience: Hotel Background Required

Supervisory Experience: Preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards.
  • Assist and support Room Attendants in their duties as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to new housekeeping staff.
  • Act as the Housekeeping Manager in their absence, ensuring all operations run smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the hospitality industry.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Additional coursework in a related field is advantageous.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Essential Duties:

  • Engage with guests and team members in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in line with company standards.
  • Exhibit high standards of personal grooming and uniform compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Monitor staff performance daily to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
  • In the absence of senior management, inspect VIP rooms and communicate their status to the Front Office.
  • Oversee the proper closing of floors at the end of shifts, ensuring all carts are organized and stocked.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of daily assignment records.
  • Manage key control systems effectively.
  • Supervise laundry and housekeeping staff, holding them accountable for their performance.
  • Document any issues related to staff performance or conduct.
  • Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
  • Stay informed about all company policies and house rules.
  • Ensure that all associates are attentive, friendly, and courteous to guests and colleagues.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and orderliness of staff areas.
  • Utilize communication devices to stay connected with the Front Office and Engineering teams.
  • Assign daily tasks to Room Attendants and House Attendants.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of staff carts and storage areas.
  • Report on the status of out-of-order rooms to management daily.
  • Initiate and follow up on maintenance requests for various hotel facilities.
  • Facilitate effective training for Room Attendants.
  • Motivate and coach staff as necessary to enhance performance.
  • Collect keys and assignment sheets at the end of each shift.
  • Participate in meetings as required by management.
  • Ensure the completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects.
  • Monitor special requests and the needs of VIP guests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
