Job Overview: The Staff Physician is tasked with delivering high-quality non-surgical primary and ongoing care to patients. The physician is expected to uphold the highest ethical standards while acting in the best interests of Aultman/Aultman Medical Group (AMG), aligning with AMG's mission, vision, and values to enhance the health and well-being of its patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough examinations, gather comprehensive medical histories, and manage both acute and chronic conditions in various care settings.
  • Order, perform, and interpret necessary diagnostic evaluations.
  • Engage patients and their families in informed care and treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance care delivery and service quality.
  • Initiate appropriate referrals to specialists, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • In Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) environments, collaborate with the Care Delivery team for specific patient populations or conditions.
  • Provide timely and clear clinical information to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure accurate and complete patient documentation.
  • Work with practice management to maintain compliance with billing, coding, and CPT guidelines.
  • Strive for optimal patient access and availability.
  • Offer medical consultations across departments as needed.
  • Participate in the formulation of medical protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide on-call coverage as necessary, responding promptly when required.
  • Foster a respectful environment by giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in accordance with practice policies and applicable laws.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Providers, offering supervision and guidance as needed.
  • Promote health education initiatives alongside other healthcare professionals.
  • Utilize healthcare resources efficiently within the group practice.
  • Contribute to quality improvement efforts by participating in medical staff activities and committees.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) with completion of an ABIM, AOA, or ABFM recognized residency in internal or family medicine.
  • Active board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty area.
  • Unrestricted medical license in Ohio.
  • Current DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications as required.

Continuing Education:

  • Engagement in ongoing medical education (CME) as mandated.

Skills and Competencies:

Possesses a comprehensive understanding of primary care principles and practices. Proficient in pharmacological treatments and capable of effectively managing medical staff support activities while ensuring quality patient care. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with diverse populations in a professional manner.
