Job Title: Manager Logistics & Supply Chain Optimization

National Gypsum Services Company is seeking a highly skilled Manager Logistics & Supply Chain Optimization to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This role will report to the Director Logistics & Supply Chain and will be responsible for driving efficiency and optimization within our logistics and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement supply chain models to identify opportunities for improvement and drive efficiency within our logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Own network analysis, including inventory and sourcing strategies, to ensure optimal supply chain performance.
  • Collaborate with plants and regional network supply planners to ensure full use and understanding of NGC inventory optimization features within SAP.
  • Work with demand management, customer service, logistics, and regional network supply planners to monitor inventory turns and lead focused inventory turn improvement efforts.
  • Develop and implement metrics for key logistics and supply chain performance, including average length of haul, on-time delivery, freight cost per MSF, inventory turns, etc.
  • Participate in design and improvement of future logistics and supply chain analytics/metrics, including alerts and exception reporting, dashboards.
  • Work with carrier partners to identify and correct issues with shipment status tracking, carrier-e-link process, and EDI transaction sets implemented in SAP.
  • Create compelling logistics and supply chain presentations to enhance decision-making capabilities throughout the company.
  • Support logistics team/managers in carrier negotiations, master data management, and other duties as assigned by Director of Logistics and Supply Chain.
Requirements:
  • At least 15 years of experience in supporting logistics and supply chain.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or similar field.
  • Supply Chain Network Design Experience. Experience with network modeling tools.
  • Strong passion for answering complex business questions using rigorous data analysis.
  • Expertise in analytical tools, including Excel statistical add-ins (Solver), and hands-on use of query tools such as Business Objects (WEBI, Analysis for Excel, Microsoft Access).
  • Statistical and financial modeling experience.
  • Detail-oriented, but also understands opportunities at the highest level.
  • Ability to work in teams, participate in cross-functional improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and current trends.
  • Able to grasp new technical concepts quickly.
  • Adaptable, comfortable with new approaches.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with individuals at all levels within the company.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Implementation and support experience with SAP or another major ERP system.
  • Implementation and support experience with major Transportation Management System.
  • Domestic travel up to 10%.
  • Hybrid eligible.
