Join Our Team as a Landfill Laborer

We are Waste Connections, an integrated services company that provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal, and recycling services to local residents and businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada.

About the Role

As a landfill laborer with us, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our landfills. Your duties will include:

  • Checking trucks in and out of the landfill and directing traffic as necessary
  • Performing manual labor, including paper picking and keeping the landfill clean and presentable
  • Performing yard work, including cutting weeds
  • Installing temporary wind fences as required
  • Performing general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work
  • Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine safe and environmentally sound solutions to service issues
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • One year of stable employment history in a similar environment
  • Ability to work a schedule in all weather conditions
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
