Job Overview

The Construction Project Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all construction activities at the site and managing field personnel to ensure successful project completion within the designated timeline and budget. This role emphasizes maintaining superior quality standards, supervising all trades and field staff, and enforcing robust safety protocols throughout all on-site operations. The Construction Project Supervisor will guide and direct multiple projects within their assigned area of responsibility, requiring expertise in compressor stations, tank batteries, and underground piping. Experience in managing subcontractors and scheduling crews of up to 50 individuals is essential. This position entails significant travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocates for job safety, enforces safe work practices, and promptly addresses job site hazards.
  • Conducts Job Safety Assessments (JSA) prior to the commencement of work and communicates mitigation strategies to team members.
  • Coordinates and oversees all construction activities related to pipeline facilities for maintenance, integrity, or new projects.
  • Directs field personnel to ensure project completion on time, within budget, and with high-quality workmanship in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Manages job site expenditures for labor, equipment, materials, and services, ensuring operations remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Reviews forecasts to identify additional pipeline construction or modification needs for systems and facilities.
  • Orders necessary materials and schedules inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Comprehends project plans, specifications, and company policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Develops the field workforce to ensure the project team consists of qualified and knowledgeable personnel, optimizing personnel utilization.
  • Ensures compliance with company safety policies by all employees, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Maintains constructive and respectful relationships with clients and their representatives.
  • Organizes the job site and administrative office efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in pipeline/facilities, including significant pipe and turbine compressor station experience.
  • At least 10 years in the pipeline/facilities construction sector.
  • Proficient in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, and quality control on pipeline facilities projects.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Education/Training:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions promptly based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective listening abilities.
  • Professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams.
  • Physical capability to endure frequent physical activity, work extended hours, and adapt to various outdoor conditions.
