Position SummaryThe Auto Body Shop Manager will oversee the daily functions of the auto body shop, ensuring that staff are effectively managed, high-quality repairs are executed, and exceptional customer service is maintained. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, comprehensive knowledge of auto body repair methods, and a dedication to excellence in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all daily operations of the auto body shop, including staff oversight, scheduling, and workflow coordination.
- Guarantee that all repairs and services meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering parts and supplies as necessary.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance shop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Prepare and manage budgets encompassing labor, materials, and overhead expenses.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and vendors to facilitate repairs and ensure prompt payment.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Recruit, train, and mentor new employees, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to shop operations, including repair orders, inventory, and employee performance.
- Demonstrated experience as a manager in an auto body shop or similar automotive repair setting.
- Thorough understanding of auto body repair techniques, tools, and industry standards.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide staff.
- Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in shop management software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional management or automotive certifications are advantageous.
