Job Summary
Baptist Medical Center South is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cardiology Nurse Extern to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and services to patients, adhering to the scope of practice of unlicensed healthcare providers acting under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Support the philosophy, purpose, and objectives of Baptist Medical Center South and the Department of Nursing, including selected technical skills, data collection, and lab specimen collection.
- Assist with various tasks and duties as assigned by the nursing team, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required, and currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
- Completed a minimum of Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration in Nursing School.
- Currently employed as a PCT by Baptist Health, including Nurse Interns and Nursing Externs.
- Licensed/Certified: BLS required.
- Knowledge of body mechanics and basic safety, principles of physical care and comfort.
- Knowledge of patho-pharmacology.
- Ability to work as a team under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
