Job Title: Prep Cook

At Story Tavern, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, preparing ingredients, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the culinary team with food ordering and inventory control.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing, chopping, and maintaining a prep schedule according to daily and weekly schedules.
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for clients with dietary restrictions.
  • Prepare a variety of different meals for customers based on our menu choices.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Proper food handling, including sanitation of all surfaces and cooking and serving utensils.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions for kitchen and dining areas.
  • Conduct periodic review of kitchen equipment as outlined by applicable state and local agencies and regulations and keep licenses, certifications, inspections current.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to order, inspect, and receive supplies.
  • Must possess the skills to conduct, maintain, and record inventory.
  • Must have knowledge of applicable national, state, and local health and food preparation standards and regulations and be able to maintain the facility in compliance with regulations.
  • Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Must be a team member.
  • Must possess basic communication skills.
Benefits:
  • $250 Sign-on paid after 90 days of employment.
  • Bonus Paid time off.
Work Schedule:
  • Wednesday to Friday 5-10 PM.
  • Saturday & Sunday Noon-10 PM.
Requirements:
  • Food Handler Certification (Preferred).
  • US citizen.
  • Valid driver's license or social security card.
