Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Mid-American Steel and Wire. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing solutions to complex applications problems, performing systems management and integration functions, and ensuring the stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of system architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify the stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture.
  • Provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems.
  • Monitor system operation to detect potential problems.
  • Perform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software.
  • Establish functional or system standards to ensure operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints are addressed.
  • Evaluate existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements.
  • Train system users in system operation or maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain production machinery.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Work Environment:

The employee will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The employee will be required to sit, stand, stoop, and bend to reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee will occasionally walk, kneel, and talk or hear.

The employee will be exposed to vibration, hot materials, and loud noise. The employee will wear common protective or safety equipment such as metatarsal boots, glasses, gloves, fire retardant uniforms, hard hats, and hearing protection.

Tools and Technology:

The employee will use mobile equipment, power tools, hand tools, and other tools required in the production process. The employee will also use computers and mobile devices, printers, copy machines, fax machines or scanners, database software, recordkeeping software, email software, and other technology.
